Chronic urticaria, a heterogenous skin condition, is challenging to manage in many patients, which can adversely affect a patients quality of life. Bilastine is a suitable medication for the management of chronic urticaria. This second-generation H1 antihistamine is different from most of its counterparts in terms of its nonsedating potential, fast onset and longer duration of action, less risk of drug interactions and once daily administration. In patients with chronic urticaria not showing satisfactory response to standard doses, bilastines dose can be increased up to fourfold and is generally safe.
