Child Rights Body at Kolkata Visit Hospital amidst the Rising Cases of Respiratory Infection Deaths

On Wednesday, members of the West Bengal Commission for Protection of Child Rights (WBCPCR) visited various hospitals in Kolkata as the number of children dying from acute respiratory infections (ARI) continued to surge in the state. In West Bengal, ARI and adenovirus have caused several child deaths over the past few weeks.

 

As per the officials, members of the WBCPCR went to the Dr. BC Roy Postgraduate Institute of Paediatric Sciences and interacted with the families of children who are receiving treatment at the institution.

 

The health officials claimed that the three children died of an acute respiratory infection and were suffering from fever. The officials revealed that two six-year-old children had passed away at the Kolkata Medical College and Hospital in the last 24 hours, while another youngster passed away at the Dr. BC Roy Hospital and Hospital.
