In Rajasthans rural areas, 1,715 of the 1,763 newly hired doctors will begin working by March 15.

As part of the state government′s initiative for an interdepartmental end-to-end solution, doctors are now being given the option of posting through the online Rajhealth portal. These doctors have been assigned postings in rural areas to help patients who have to travel a long distance for treatment.

Dr. Ravi Prakash Mathur, director (health) of the health department, said that selected candidates were prompted to fill out their posting choices via an online platform. The same portal will be used for the doctors enrollment as well.

The health department reports that out of 1,763 new doctor postings, 943 have been made at primary health centers (PHCs), ensuring that all PHCs would have access to doctors, and 772 have been made at community health centers (CHCs), with 112 of those being specialists.

39 specialists have also been assigned to sub-district hospitals.

The district hospitals now have nine specialists on staff, including two super specialists. According to health department representatives, placing 1,715 doctors in rural areas will improve patient care.
