Health Ministry Revealed that Swine Flu Cases are on The Rise Across the Nation

According to the data released by the Union Health Ministry, cases of swine flu (H1N1) are gradually increasing in several parts of India. However, flu triggered by the influenza A subtype H3N2 virus is still the dominant virus circulating in India.

 

As of February 2023, there were 955 H1N1 cases registered in the country, with the largest number of cases reported in Tamil Nadu (545), followed by Maharashtra (170), Gujarat (74), Kerala (42), and Punjab (28).

 

Overall, 397,814 cases of acute respiratory illness and influenza-like illness were reported in the country till February. The officials from the health ministry who are tracking and monitoring the cases stated that the H1N1 cases are anticipated to decline by the end of March.
