On Tuesday, two doctors had their employment with the Uttar Pradesh government terminated for reportedly engaging in private practice. Action has been taken against both doctors after a departmental inquiry found them guilty.

Officials from the health department stated that investigations had been requested into several complaints made by the patients attendants. The two doctors who were selected through Provincial Medical Services were found to be violating a 1978 state government order that bans private practice by government doctors. Additionally, it is considered to be against the 1956 Government Servants Conduct Regulations.

In a press release, Mr. Brajesh Pathak, the deputy chief minister who also serves as the health minister, announced the termination of the employment contracts of Dr. Rajesh Kumar Verma, an orthopedic surgeon who was assigned to the Dankaur CHC in Noida, and Dr. Vijay Pratap Singh, a medical officer.
