Mumbai: The Drug Controller General of India (DCGI) has given Beta Drugs Ltd. (Adley Group) the go-ahead to introduce enzalutamide 160 mg under the trade name ADLEAP for treating advanced prostate cancer.

In India, prostate cancer affects a disproportionately high number of men. Enzalutamide 160 mg will make it easier for patients to take this medication because they previously had to take four 40-mg tabs as directed by a doctor, which led to improved patient compliance, a lower risk of missed doses, and higher levels of efficacy.

Recently, the company launched Palbociclib, a CDK4/6 inhibitor intended for the treatment of breast cancer. The company can fill the gap in cancer patient care and lower the cost of treatment for Indian patients thanks to its in-house research on cancer medications. Beta Medicines Ltd. has a strong development pipeline and plans to introduce at least six novel compounds or NDDS formulations in FY 23–24.
