Deputy Commissioner (DC) Aashika Jain encouraged people to take safeguards against Covid during a two-day simulated drill in Mohali to evaluate preparations for a Covid surge.

She stated that the district administration was properly prepared when presiding over a meeting at the District Administration Complex to evaluate procedures for dealing with Covid. She urged people to take measures at schools, government and private workplaces, indoor and outdoor gatherings, malls and public venues, etc. She also requested that people use masks at medical facilities and emphasized that the situation in the district was perfectly normal and that residents should not worry.

On Monday, Mohali reported 38 Covid cases. This brings the total number of active cases to 224. There was no repentance for death.

DC Aashika Jain asked health department staff to assess the medicinal oxygen facility and schedule necessary maintenance. She urged health department personnel to guarantee that Covid tests were performed on those who reported symptoms, despite hospitals having extra beds. She also recommended folks get RTPCR tests done instead of RAT in case of uncertainty. She urged health authorities to enforce social separation, prohibit spitting in public areas, and make other efforts to keep Covid at bay.

The DC requested that authorities enhance testing of people suffering from colds, flu, sickness, respiratory issues, and infections.
