The National Medical Commission (NMC) has red-flagged state faculty transfers from one medical college to another.

The apex body for regulating medical education in the country stated that their Medical Assessment and Ratings Board has been informed that faculties are being transferred between the state medical colleges to fulfill teaching or faculty requirements. In an order released by the apex body, it was noted that these transfers took place before the inspection.

The order also stated that the Rating Board has revealed that "various writ petitions have been filed in various high courts by faculties who have been transferred by the state government from one medical college to another, alleging that their transfer will result in a deficiency in the first medical college."
