Fortis Hiranandani Hospital Vashi has established Navi Mumbais first Diabetic Foot Clinic to give diabetic patients comprehensive care in one location. The clinic will include screening, pathology, wound treatment, surgical care, and interventional procedures under the direction of Dr. Farah Ingale, Director of Internal Medicine.

Diabetes patients frequently have decreased blood flow to their feet, which can have a substantial impact on their lifestyle, including difficulties walking and, in extreme cases, amputation.

The center was inaugurated by Shri Sanjay Vilasrao Mohite (IPS), Joint Commissioner of Police, Navi Mumbai, and Dr. Arun Bal, a renowned diabetic foot surgeon. According to Dr. Arun Bal, 78 million individuals in India have diabetes, of whom 15% have foot issues and 1% have already lost a limb.

Dr. Ingale stated that regulating blood sugar levels is critical for treating infections and preventing new infections in diabetic individuals. She noted that the goal of the clinic is to prevent complications by encouraging diabetic patients to undergo an annual foot examination, which can detect nerve, blood vessel, and joint issues.

Mr. Nitin Kamaria, Facility Director of Hiranandani Hospital, Vashi, stated that launching the clinic is a progressive step towards reducing mortality rates, building awareness, and providing comprehensive treatment for diabetic patients under one roof.
