In the next two years, Private equity-based women and childcare chain hospital "Motherhood" hopes to more than double its newborn intensive care unit (NICU) capacity.

According to Executive Chairman Vishal Bali, the hospital chains holding company, Asia Healthcare Holdings (AHH), which manages 23 facilities in 11 locations, plans to expand through buyouts.

Mr. Bali said that "Motherhood" has added 300 NICU beds in the previous three years. In April of this year, the hospital chain debuted NICU Live, a remote patient monitoring concept, raising the total number of beds to 500.

Bali stated that the Motherhood Hospital has made two acquisitions in the last year: Femiint in Bengaluru and Chaitanya in the Mohali and Chandigarh Tricity region. All of the purchases were financed using existing resources and were immediately accretive.

In the fiscal year 2023-24, the hospital network expects to earn roughly Rs 750 crore. The hospitals income is projected to have been around Rs 450 crore after the previous fiscal year.

According to the chairman, AHH is only focused on developing single-specialty hospital networks rather than multi-specialty hospital chains. He stated that the firm is trying to expand into new disciplines such as gastroenterology, pathology diagnostics, and urology. The business now owns the Nova IVF fertility facility, which has 62 locations in 42 cities.
