On Sunday, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi announced the successful implementation of the Ayushman Bharat Health Account-based scan and share facility (ABHA). The facility was adopted to reduce waiting times for the Outpatient Department (OPD) and long queues at one of Indias premier healthcare institutions.

The ABHA-based scan and share facility deployment has produced spectacular results, with AIIMS New Delhi proudly holding the top place, having issued an astonishing 73,700 ABHA-based scan and share OPD tokens to date. The ABHA Mobile application has drastically cut waiting times and expedited the registration procedure for patients visiting the hospital, improving the overall patient experience in its outpatient department.

Dr. Rima Dada, Professor-in-Charge of the Media Cell, stated that patients who had to wait longer at AIIMS had to suffer huge lines at OPD registration booths, causing discomfort and hardship. However, patients can now easily circumvent these waits with the introduction of the ABHA-based scan and share option, making their hospital visit more pleasant and hassle-free.
