Two months after the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) increased the cost of its health package, the Delhi government revised the fees for those covered by its health program. On Wednesday, the health department issued an order stating that from now on, the Delhi Government Employees Health Scheme (DGEHS) will also use the CGHS prices.

According to the order, all healthcare organizations impaneled under DGEHS will begin using the CGHS memorandum about "Revision of Consultation Fee, Room Rent, and ICU charges for all healthcare organizations (HCOs) impaneled under CGHS" as of June 14, 2023.

The Delhi government health department found that private hospitals impaneled under their health program had already started charging the raised CGHS rates from DGEHS beneficiaries due to the most recent CGHS rate revision.

The government then mandated strict adherence to the agreed fees for all private hospitals impaneled under the DGEHS program.

The IPD consultation cost has increased from Rs 300 to Rs 350, while OPD rates have increased from Rs 150 to Rs 350. ICU care has a fixed daily charge of Rs 5,400, which includes housing for all ward rights. Rents for hospital rooms have also been updated. A general room now costs Rs 1,500 per month instead of Rs 1,000.
