The Gujarat education department will combine pupils academic and medical reports in public schools by including medical words in final grade sheets.

The Gujarat government outlined the rationale for this data integration between the health and education departments in a statement released on Wednesday. The goal was to guarantee the total growth and development of every pupil. From this academic year forward, checkups will be held every three months to obtain more precise data on students health throughout the year. According to the statement, the final health report will subsequently be added to the grade sheets or report cards, thus securing health integration.

Under the School Health - Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (SHRBSK) project, the state government began a month-long checkup campaign on Wednesday. Over one crore pupils are anticipated to receive thorough health examinations over the course of the next 30 days.

The state government hopes to give free checkups through this scheme and identify disorders like anemia, malnutrition, skin conditions, learning difficulties, developmental delays, etc. 992 mobile health teams will check out pupils at public schools, and those who need treatment will get it for free at government medical facilities. Gujarat will lead the way in issuing digital health cards to all kids participating in the checkups, becoming the first state to have such a system.
