The electronic Vaccine Intelligence Network (eVIN) installation in Uttar Pradesh has been praised by authorities from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

The compliment came from Mr. Haoliang Xu, assistant secretary-general of the United Nations, who visited the Varanasi district womens hospital on Tuesday to oversee the operation of eVIN and other health services provided by the state health department.

During this visit, the team gathered complete information about the eVin system designed for the temperature, maintenance, and management of the vaccine.

eVIN is a smartphone and cloud technology-based software developed by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare that digitizes information on vaccination stockpiles and temperatures across the country.

According to health experts, an updated version of eVIN known as eVIN Advance Edition has been developed. It involves the integration of an end-to-end supply chain solution that begins with the manufacturer and ends at the vaccination session location in eVIN AE.
