On Friday, Mr. Ravi Dadhich, CEO of the Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Bureau of India (PMBI), stated that 10,000 Jan Aushadi Kendras are expected to be functional nationwide by the end of 2023. 

Currently, four warehouses are under Pradhan Mantri Bharatiya Jan Aushadi Pariyojana (PMBJP).  These warehouses are located at Gurugram, Chennai, Guwahati, and Surat. PMBJP provides 1800 medicines and 285 surgical devices at highly subsidized prices without compromising quality. 

Mr. Ravi Dadhich stated that each batch of drugs sent to the warehouses is tested at laboratories accredited by National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) to ensure the best quality. 

He added that PMBI places the highest importance on quality parameters and regularly conducts checks to ensure the quality of medicines.
