Biotin can improve insulin sensitivity and glucose uptake in skeletal muscle. It has shown a hypoglycemic effect by increasing the expression of the hepatic glucokinase gene and thereby effectively decreasing blood glucose levels.5
Trials using high-dose biotin supplementation for type 1 diabetics have shown promising results, such as good glycemic control and better response to insulin insensitivity after the intervention.5
Also, some animal studies have shown that administration of high-dose biotin can improve glucose tolerance.5
