In a bold and visionary move, India has unveiled its ambitious ’75 to 25’ target, demonstrating a commitment to addressing the escalating global burden of hypertension. The initiative aims to impact hypertension rates on a global scale significantly.

What is the 75 by 25 initiative in India? Further to this, earlier this year on World Hypertension Day, Indias Ministry of Health launched the ambitious 75-25 initiative for screening and placing 75 million people with hypertension and diabetes on Standard Care by 2025, primarily through Primary Health Centres (PHCs).

The ’75 by 25’ target sets a goal for India to control hypertension in 755 of its adult population by 2025. This strategic objective aligns with broader global efforts to combat the rising prevalence of hypertension, a leading contributor to cardiovascular diseases worldwide.

India’s proactive stance recognizes the urgent need for comprehensive measures to curb the hypertension epidemic. Hypertension, often referred to as a silent killer, poses a substantial risk to public health, and India’s innovative approach could potentially serve as a model for other nations grappling with similar challenges.

The initiative focuses on widespread awareness campaigns, robust healthcare infrastructure development, and efficient management strategies. By leveraging a multi-faceted approach, India aims to meet its national health target and contribute significantly to the global fight against hypertension.
