All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bhopal, recently held a Continuing Medical Education (CME) workshop on interpreting biomarkers to detect breast and lung cancer. This event was funded by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and is part of the DIAMOnDS project, which provides free biomarker testing for breast and lung cancers.
Dr. VaishaliWalke, Head of the Department of Pathology at AIIMS Bhopal, emphasized the importance of biomarkers in managing breast cancer, highlighting their critical role in guiding treatment and prognosis.
Dr. Deepti Joshi presented the audience with an overview of the DIAMonDS project, which offers the local community free biomarker testing for breast and lung cancers.
The initiative seeks to empower individuals by educating them on cancer signs, symptoms, and the significance of regular screenings. As cancer continues to be a global health challenge, projects like DIAMonDS are vital in improving treatment options and outcomes for patients.
