A study published March 20, 2018 in the journal Epilepsia has shown that individuals without EEG training can detect ongoing seizures or seizure‐like rhythmic periodic patterns by listening to sonified EEG. Medical students and nurses could detect seizures with >95% sensitivity after listening to 15 sec of sonified EEG.
