Entod Pharmaceuticals is set to launch PresVu, India’s first eye drops designed to eliminate the need for reading glasses, in early October. The drops, containing pilocarpine, provide a new solution for presbyopia, improving near vision within 15 minutes and lasting up to six hours.

Mumbai-based Entod Pharmaceuticals has received regulatory approval for "PresVu," Indias first eye drops designed to eliminate the need for reading glasses. This breakthrough comes after over two years of deliberation. The drops, containing pilocarpine, address presbyopia, a common age-related vision issue affecting those in their mid-40s to late 60s by reducing pupil size and improving near vision.

According to Mr. Nikkhil K Masurkar, CEO of Entod Pharmaceuticals, a single drop starts working within 15 minutes and lasts up to six hours, with the option to extend the effect with a second drop. This novel solution offers an alternative to reading glasses, contact lenses, and surgery. 

PresVu, priced at Rs 350 per prescription, will be available from early October. The formulation, tailored specifically for Indian eyes, is based on extensive local clinical trials and expert recommendations.
