The National Medical Commission (NMC) has launched the National Medical Register (NMR) portal for MBBS doctors, creating unique practitioner IDs and centralizing registration. This initiative aims to enhance verification, streamline data, and integrate doctors into India’s digital healthcare ecosystem.
The National Medical Commission (NMC) has launched a portal for the registration of all MBBS doctors eligible to practice in India, creating a unique ID for each practitioner. The National Medical Register (NMR) serves as a dynamic database and central repository, with verification based on Aadhaar IDs.
NMC Secretary Dr. B Srinivas announced that the NMR is open for immediate registration. Doctors already listed on the Indian Medical Register (IMR) must re-register on the new platform. The system connects medical institutions, state medical councils (SMCs), and stakeholders, allowing seamless application verification.
Doctors must submit their Aadhaar ID, MBBS degree, and state registration certificate to start the process. Once verified, a unique NMR ID will be issued, linking practitioners to the broader digital healthcare ecosystem.
