Chhattisgarh ACB/EOW filed a chargesheet against six individuals in Rs 550 crore medical procurement scam involving inflated purchases of equipment and reagents. The accused include officials from CGMSCL and Mokshit Corporation.
On Saturday, the Chhattisgarh Anti-Corruption Bureau/Economic Offences Wing (ACB/EOW) filed a chargesheet against six individuals for their involvement in a medical equipment and reagent chemicals procurement scam that caused a loss of Rs 550 crore to the state government. The 18,000-page chargesheet names Mr. Shashank Chopda, director of Mokshit Corporation, along with officials from the Chhattisgarh Medical Services Corporation Ltd (CGMSCL), including Mr. Basant Kumar Kaushik, Mr. Chhirod Rautia, Mr. Kamalkant Patanwar, Dr. Anil Parsai, and Mr. Deepak Kumar Bandhe.
The scam, which dates back to 2023, involved the purchase of unnecessary medical equipment, such as EDTA tubes and CBC machines, at inflated prices from Mokshit Corporation. The accused have been charged under the Indian Penal Code and the Prevention of Corruption Act.
