iBreastExam, a portable and radiation-free device by UE LifeSciences, enables quick, affordable breast cancer screening even in remote areas. With over 1.2 million women screened, its transforming early detection and expanding globally.
Breast cancer accounts for 28% of all female cancers in India, with late diagnosis and limited access to screening driving low survival rates. Addressing this challenge, Mumbai-based UE LifeSciences has developed iBreastExam—a portable, painless, radiation-free device that detects abnormalities in under 8 minutes.
The handheld tool utilizes Dynamic Co-Planar Capacitive sensing to assess tissue stiffness and operates in conjunction with a mobile app to deliver instant results. Requiring minimal training, it empowers frontline health workers to conduct screenings in remote or underserved areas at just ₹100–350 per test, much cheaper than traditional mammograms.
With over 1.2 million women screened, iBreastExam is expanding globally and launching a "Think Pink" campaign to reach 100 million women across emerging markets.
