India reported 203 new COVID-19 cases and 5 deaths on June 1, bringing active cases to 3,961. States have ramped up precautions, with the Centre assuring full preparedness.
As of June 2, India has 3,961 active COVID-19 cases, with a total of 32 deaths reported since January 2025. On June 1, five new deaths were recorded—one each in Delhi, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, and Kerala. New cases continue to emerge across several states: Delhi has 483 active cases, Kerala has 1,435, Maharashtra has 506, and West Bengal has 331.
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare confirms ongoing monitoring and preparedness, with infrastructure such as oxygen plants and ICU beds reviewed and strengthened. Karnataka has issued guidelines urging schools to keep symptomatic students at home and follow medical advice to prevent the spread.
