India is witnessing a gradual rise in COVID-19 cases, with 65 new infections and four deaths reported in 24 hours. Authorities urge vigilance but stress that there is no cause for panic, as most cases remain mild.
India recorded 65 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, pushing the national total to 4,026 active cases. Delhi reported 47 new infections, while Kerala and Maharashtra saw 35 and 59 fresh cases, respectively. Maharashtra's tally since January 1 now stands at 873, with 20 new cases in Mumbai alone.
Four COVID-related deaths were reported, though officials clarified that underlying conditions played a key role. Karnataka Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao reassured citizens that the state is well-prepared, with updated infrastructure in place. He urged people, especially those who are immunocompromised, to wear masks and maintain good hygiene.
Haryana reported 18 new cases, mostly from Gurugram, Faridabad, and Karnal, with no hospitalizations recorded.
