Five classes of antibiotics – oral sulfas, cephalosporins, fluoroquinolones, nitrofurantoin/methenamine and broad-spectrum penicillins – were found to increase the risk of kidney stones, according to a study published online May 10, 2018 in the Journal of the American Society of Nephrology.
