Levofloxacin, moxifloxacin, linezolid, and bedaquiline were associated with treatment success and reduced death in patients with multi-drug resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB). Clofazimine and the carbapenems were associated with treatment success, but not reduced death. Common drugs currently used to treat MDR-TB, such as kanamycin, capreomycin, and ethionamide, were associated with a lack of benefit. These findings from a systematic review and meta-analysis were published in The Lancet.
