Yes, it is obligatory for doctors, hospitals to provide the copy of the case record or medical record to the patient or his legal representative.The Medical Council of India has imposed an obligation on doctors as per the Indian Medical Council (Professional Ethics, Etiquette & Conduct) Regulations, 2002 notified on 11th March 2002, amended up to December 2010 to maintain the medical record and provide patient access to it.Maintenance of Medical Records:
