World Antibiotic Awareness Week aims to increase global awareness of antibiotic resistance (AMR) and to encourage best practices among the general public, health workers and policy makers to avoid the further emergence and spread of antibiotic resistance. The overall theme this year is “Antibiotics: handle with care”.
The five days of World Antibiotic Awareness Week features tailored multiday messaging that corresponds to each of the five strategic objectives of the GAP – awareness, global AMR surveillance, infection prevention and control, optimal antimicrobial use and investment and R&D.
