SO2S study finds against routine use of low-dose oxygen in nonhypoxic patients with acute stroke

Findings of the Stroke Oxygen Study SO2S published in the September 26 2017 issue of JAMA show no improvement in outcomes with the routine use of prophylactic low dose oxygen in nonhypoxic patients with acute stroke. In the study the prophylactic use of low dose oxygen supplementation did not reduce death or disability at 3 months.
