Breastfeeding for more than 6 months reduces maternal central obesity

Breastfeeding greater than 6 months is associated with smaller maternal waist circumference up to one decade after delivery. These findings from the POUCHmoms Study were published online Dec 11, 2018 in the Journal of Womens Health. A total of 678 women from the Pregnancy Outcomes and Community Health (POUCH) cohort participated in the POUCHmoms Study 7-15 years after delivery.
