On September 20, Government doctors in the district will go on leave en masse to protest against the alleged police inaction of not arresting those responsible for the violent attack on a woman doctor on duty and staff of Pallickal community health centre (CHC) last Saturday.

Kerala Government Medical Officers’ Association (KGMOA) said that emergency services and surgeries will not be affected on Friday. On Wednesday, the district leadership of the KGMOA staged a dharna in front of CHC and said that the hesitancy of the police in arresting the culprits was strange.

Indian Medical Association has also decided to join and observe protest day on Friday in unity with KGMOA.
