On Tuesday, doctors from government hospitals such as Maulana Azad Medical College, RML Hospital and Safdarjung Hospital will hold a two-hour symbolic protest. On Monday, officials had said that the protest was due to the non-payment of salary to doctors of Hindu Rao Hospital.

The Indian Medical Association (IMA) had demanded that the authorities should immediately pay the salaries of the doctors along with the pending dues. This protest is an exception to the ongoing protest and a hunger strike that is being carried by Hindu Rao Hospital’s resident doctors because of non-payment of salaries for almost three months.

IMA said in a press release that it has taken a serious exception to the current unfortunate situation in Hindu Rao Hospital that comes under the Delhi Municipal Corporation management. This has sent a wrong message to the medical profession and the nation and is also demoralizing the entire doctor community.
