In an Indian hospital, a young female patient aged 20 years was allegedly gang raped by a doctor and other hospital staff and was then murdered. The young female was for treatment in the hospital in Manjhanpur, northern India for fever and stomach pain.

Just before she died, she had reportedly called her parents to tell them that she had been cruelly sexually assaulted by the medical and other staff.

Her father informed the management of the private hospital but was told that his daughter was mentally ill. Her father then met the senior district officials and wanted an investigation into this matter. The police officials are investigating the suspected gang rape and murder.

According to the reports, the doctor and other staff workers are on the run. A senior district official in Kaushambi said that they will take strict action against the accused staff of the hospital and the licence of the hospital will also be cancelled. However, hospital manager Sanjiv Kumar has rejected the accusations and called them a “conspiracy”.

In the last month, there were protests following death of a woman who died 2 weeks after a brutal gang rape by four men that left her paralysed. The 19-year-old female was assaulted on 14th September as she was out cutting grass in Hathras, a district in Uttar Pradesh.

Since 2012, rape and sexual violence are under the spotlight in India after gang rape and murder of a young female in Delhi. In current years, India has become one of the world’s most dangerous places for women. According to the government data, a rape happens every 15 minutes and 90 rapes each day on average. Huge numbers go unreported as many women do not want to go to the authorities.

Massive demonstrations are held calling for strict action. Though the authorities have replied with tougher penalties, but India’s rape crisis displays no sign of reduction.

A 17-year-old female in India was kidnapped in October and was repeatedly gang raped for a period of 22 day as she ran away from home. She was kidnapped after she left her home due to an argument with her parents in Cuttack, India. Also, an Indian school girl got pregnant after being raped by her three cousins for a period of five months. The 12-year-old female was admitted in a hospital of western Navsari district for stomach ache and the doctors found that she was 4 months pregnant.

A 13-year-old teenager girl was set on fire by her boss after he tried to rape her. The 26-year-old boss is married to a pregnant wife and allegedly carried out this crime in Khammam town of Telangana on 18th September. The girl was hired as a caretaker to look after a bedridden person in their house. She was rushed to the hospital with burns covering almost 70 percent of her body.
