The centre is now working on different vaccine strategies to make vaccines reach and protect each people within the shortest time frame. It has been working on a vaccine-tracking platform, which is expected to work using existing platforms developed by the Centre to track Covid cases and vaccinations, like the RT-PCR, AarogyaSetu app, and CoWIN.

The platform will extract diagnostic data, vaccine data and the overall disease data from these apps which will be then harmonized and give a clearer picture regarding vaccine effectiveness, reinfections and trends as vaccine coverage increases. Data regarding breakthrough infections following vaccinations and the severity of infections post-immunisation will also be extracted and studied.

Apart from the aforementioned information, the centre is also planning to review whether a single dose is effective as it would help the Government cover the population at a faster rate. The mixing of vaccines is additionally being studied.
