According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the highly transmissible Delta variant of COVID-19 is going to become the dominant strain of the virus in the coming months.

The Delta variant has now been reported from 124 territories and is accountable for over three-quarters of the sequenced samples in several countries, noted the WHO. The agency said that the variant will likely outclass other variants soon and become the dominant lineage in the coming months.
