On Wednesday, doctors from across the country protested near the National Board of Examinations (NBEMS) office in Dwarka, against the irregularities in the exams conducted for Diplomate of National Board (DNB) post-graduation degree courses conducted by the NBEMS.

The doctors claimed that there was swapping of papers of 48 candidates and the passing result for post MBBS as well as Post Diploma DNB candidates were very low for the last few years.

A letter was written by the DNB doctors association to the NBEMS Executive Director stating that there was the swapping of the papers of 48 candidates in one speciality of orthopedics in the session of December 2020, while investigations in the rest of the specialties and the sessions had to be done. Also, the passing percentage of the DNB final exam was extremely low and NBEMS was failing the students in exit exams to generate money.

Dr Raman Kumar, DNB (Radio Diagnosis), NBEMS accepted in RTI and said that decoding error in soft copy had resulted in the paper swapping and not in hard copy. He further said that might be the soft copies or hard copies were not matched or manual tampering was done. No FIR or police complaint was filed by NBE on this matter. The manual evaluation had been changed to digital evaluation. The answer sheets in RTI are found to be blank and zero marks were given in a few well-written answers.
