  • Indian Association of Dermatologists, Venereologists & Leprologists (IADVL) is modeled on a federal structure with National IADVL body supporting its 24 state IADVL branches.
  • There has been a perfect harmony between national and state IADVL in conduct of all IADVL activities over last 5 decades.
  • The new initiatives of IADVL in 2019 are: Theme of the year “Fight topical steroid misuse” through ACE (Advocacy, Communication and Education); Developing new avenues for academic/research work; Member welfare activity - “Making IADVL more member friendly”.
  • New research areas shortlisted by IADVL academy are neglected tropical diseases (NTD) of dermatological importance and female genital dermatosis.
  • Proposal for state branches to have “academics/academic chair” on similar lines of national IADVL.
  • A presidential and EC initiative: “Group accident insurance policy” for all life members.
